AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Study Guide

4 domains · 19 subtopics · weighted by the official CLF-C02 exam guide

This is the written companion to the practice exams: a complete walk through everything CLF-C02 covers, gathered in one place so you can build understanding first and then test it. Wherever a question stumped you on the practice side, the explanation lives here.

CLF-C02 is the foundational entry exam, and it rewards a particular kind of knowing. It asks you to recognize core cloud concepts and the major AWS services, then match the right one to a stated need. You are not asked to build, configure, or write code. The questions spread across four areas: cloud concepts (the value of the cloud, cloud economics, the Well-Architected Framework, and migration), security and compliance (the shared responsibility model, IAM, and the security services), core technology and services (global infrastructure, compute, storage, databases, and networking), and billing, pricing, and support (purchasing options, cost tools, and support plans). Most of it comes down to picking the service that fits a scenario and telling close cousins apart. You will be asked things like which cost tool to reach for, Cost Explorer to see where the money went or AWS Budgets to act when it crosses a line, and where a workload should run, EC2 versus Lambda versus containers.

The guide follows the official domains at the real exam weighting, builds the mental model in plain language, and uses comparison tables and decision trees to separate the look-alike options that scenarios hinge on. Every chapter closes with a cheat sheet. Start at the top for the full path, or pick a domain from the list beside this page.
