A mobile device is a stack of subsystems in a case you would rather not open
Every task on a phone, tablet, or laptop lands on one subsystem: a specific internal part, an external accessory and the link it rides in on, a network radio or a synced account, or the fault you are chasing across them. Modern devices glue and solder those parts in place, so opening the case is costly and often irreversible, which makes it the last move rather than the first. The domain therefore rewards one instinct throughout: name the exact subsystem or display layer a task touches, then take the most precise, least-invasive action that settles it. The classic exam trap is skipping that step and reaching straight for a part swap or a whole-assembly replacement when a re-seated cable, a toggled setting, or a single failed layer was the real answer.
The domain unfolds in four jobs
Work the subtopics in the order a technician meets them, one job at a time. Across every subtopic the exam rewards the cheapest action that could resolve a symptom ahead of the costlier one: a known-good cable before a new battery, a re-seated antenna lead before a new wireless card, a forgotten-and-rejoined network before suspected hardware, a setting toggle before opening a glued-shut case. Scope that action to the one subsystem or layer that owns the fault instead of replacing the whole part around it. The lone override to this ladder, an analogy for that cheapest-first ordering and not CompTIA terminology, is safety: a swollen lithium battery, shown by a lifting screen or back panel, is a fire and rupture hazard that stops the job at once, whatever else you were doing.
